What is CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19) ?

As we all know at the movement , one of the world famous topic is this NOVEL corona Virus outbreak.

It is the causative agent for an outbreak of viral pneumonia of varying severity. As it is first reported in Wuhan,China it is called as Wuhan Corona virus as well.

Corona viruses are a large family of viruses that are commonly found in many different species of animals including camels, cattles,cats ,bats & cobra .And also they are positive sense single starnded RNA viruses.

However, all over the word are in risk of getting exposure to this corona virus due to its transmission pattern.Tf you are a person from suspected area, you have to be very cautious to prevent exposure to this viral attack.

What are the symptoms of this viral infection?

This Novel Corona virus causes respiratory illness with symptoms of fever, cough, fatigue and shorten of breath. However, the incubation period may range from 2 days to 14 days. Therefor, it is possible to miss the infection during this incubatory period.

As we know many animals harbor the Corona virus. However, infection spreading from animals to people occurs very rarely. But at the movement, it is believe that the outbreak in Wuhan,China had some link to large seafood and live animal market.Also it is difficult to control the outbreak due to person to person transmission. Mainly it happens via respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. However it is under investigation to detect how easily 2019-nCOv spread from person to person.

The Infection can be diagnosed by test call , PCR or polymerase chain reactions. This test identify virus , based on it’s genetic fingerprints.

Corona Virus Treatment

There is no vaccine or any specific anti-viral treatment for nCoV. Supportive care are available to help relieve symptoms for infected people.

COVID-19 Prevention

Right now, it is our duty to fully contribute to prevention of this globle issue. Necessary precautions should be undertaken by countries who are not exposed yet.

Some of preventive actions especially for suspected areas include,

Wash your hand often with soap and water for at least 30 seconds.
Avoid touching eyes,nose and mouth frequently with unwashed hands.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Stay home when you are infected.
Cover your sneeze or cough properly and discard infected materials in a proper way.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

Isolation of infected person , is one of the major precaution that the health care sector is highly recommended , to prevent the exposure to Novel Corona Virus.
